For the last 3 years, Richard and Kathy have opened their home to friends and fans of the band as In The Red celebrated Labor Day with the now notorious Boogie Bash. This was usually by special invitation since it was at their residence. ITR would set up our stuff, musicians from several local bands would show up, and we would all FINALLY get to just relax with each other, enjoy great music (some of which REALLY should be recorded) and generally just have a hell of a time. The friends, fans and family of the bands were treated to every imaginable genre of music as we all just got together and jammed, celebrating life and the talents we are all lucky enough to possess.
This year we are doing something different. The Boogie Bash is now a benefit that we are opening up to ANYONE who would like to come out with all proceeds going to Richard and Kathy to help get them through this period. But instead of just asking for money, we want to give back to all of you as a way of saying thank you. The Boogie Bash Benefit will be held August 30th @ 4pm at the UAW local 730 Hall on Bucannon Rd. in Wyoming Michigan. Just south of 36th st. across from the plant. For the first time there will be a request for a $10 donation at the door. We will also be checking ID's so make sure you bring yours. Inside you will find Free Food, Free Music, Free Beer and Great times. We will also be holding several Raffles throughout the night, including the chance to win a Wheel Barrel Full of a variety of Liquor, enough to stock any bar quite well. There will be a 50/50 drawing, as well as other raffle prizes available. I'd list them here, but we haven't got them all yet. We hope you can come out, even for just a little while. You don't need to be present to win. All musicians are welcome, just bring your instrument. Drums, PA, Mics and amps will all be provided. Anyone who isn't a musician, and not just drummers, is also welcome and encouraged to attend.
